Common questions

Everything you might be wondering about Direct Primary Care, our services, and what to expect.

What is direct primary care (DPC)?
Direct primary care is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly membership fee for primary care services instead of relying on traditional insurance-based billing.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not use or bill insurance at Seabreeze DPC. We focus on providing care that is simple, affordable, and direct, focusing on you as an individual. You can use insurance for other parts of your healthcare, such as prescriptions, specialist visits, etc.
Do I need health insurance to be a DPC member?
No. DPC is an affordable way for uninsured patients to have access to quality primary care. In cases where there may be additional charges, such as lab fees or imaging fees, insurance may be used. If you do not have insurance benefits, don't worry as we have many options and recommendations to make additional diagnostic testing affordable.
If I have health insurance, why should I ALSO pay a monthly membership fee for DPC?
There are many benefits to having a DPC membership such as access to appointments when you need them with same-day and next-day appointments during business hours, (not when there is an available appointment weeks away), longer appointment times to address all of your concerns, and direct access to your provider via text, phone, and email.
Should I cancel my health insurance?
No, it is not recommended to cancel your health insurance. We recommend that you pair your DPC membership with 'wrap-around coverage' or a high-deductible insurance plan which would cover you in the case of a heart attack, stroke, cancer care, or surgery.
Do you offer small business discounts?
Yes, Seabreeze DPC is pleased to announce that we offer small business discounts for employers who want to offer affordable medical benefits to their employees. Information on pricing can be found on the home/main page.
How much does DPC membership cost?
Seabreeze DPC uses a monthly membership model for unlimited primary healthcare. Information on pricing can be found on the "Pricing" section. At the time of enrollment, a one-time enrollment fee is charged.
What is included in my DPC membership?
Membership includes unlimited visits, traditional primary care services, urgent care services for acute illness, and basic office procedures. You benefit from increased access to your provider via text, phone call, and email. Access to at-cost laboratory testing with the option of having labs drawn in office and at-cost imaging services.
How long are appointment times?
Appointment times are extended, ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour. First appointment to establish care is always a 1 hour appointment. Appointment times are longer than traditional primary care appointments of 15 minutes to ensure that all of your healthcare needs are met.
Do you draw blood in the office?
Yes. Seabreeze DPC has the option for blood to be drawn in the office instead of having to go to a lab center.
What ages of patients do you see?
Seabreeze DPC sees patients ages 12 and above.
Do you offer same day appointments?
Yes. Seabreeze DPC offers same-day and next-day appointments during business hours. Seabreeze DPC sets aside a certain number of appointment slots daily to be able to accommodate patients who need to be seen quickly.
Do you offer telehealth visits?
Yes. Seabreeze DPC offers virtual or telehealth visits through video conferencing, text, phone, and email to make care more convenient and accessible for you. Telehealth visits are not a substitute for in-person care and are generally reserved for addressing minor illnesses or to review results.
Do you make house calls?
Yes. Seabreeze DPC is proud to offer house calls. Pricing for house calls starts at $50. The house call fee is on top of your scheduled monthly membership fee.
How do I schedule an appointment?
If you are not an established patient, please reach out by calling the office, sending an email, or using the contact form on the website and we will gladly assist in scheduling you an appointment. For established patients, you can use the patient portal, text, call, or email to schedule.
What if I decide to cancel my membership?
We understand your healthcare needs may change. If you need to cancel, a 30-day notice is required.
Do I have to be a primary care member to benefit from the weight loss program or IV therapy?
No. You don't need to be a Seabreeze Direct Primary Care member to take advantage of our weight loss program or IV therapy services. These are available to anyone in the community, whether or not you're enrolled in our primary care membership.
What is the cost of the weight loss program and IV therapy?
Information on pricing can be found on the "Pricing" section of this website.
What is included in the weight loss program?
The weight loss program at Seabreeze DPC includes a personalized health assessment, tailored plan, ongoing support with follow-ups, guidance on lifestyle and healthy habits, and discussion of medication options.
Are weight loss medications offered as part of the weight loss program?
Yes. If appropriate, weight loss medications may be prescribed as part of your personalized plan. Medications come at an additional cost, which varies depending on the medication and dose. Options include compounded GLP-1 medications, other injectables, and oral options. Your provider will help determine which is best for you and discuss costs and side effects.
How often will I have appointments in the weight loss program?
During the initial phase, appointments occur monthly to ensure your plan is effective and on track. Once you achieve maintenance, appointments will be scheduled less often to support long-term success.
What is IV therapy?
IV therapy is a method to quickly administer fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream. By going directly into the bloodstream, your body can absorb 100% of the nutrients. Seabreeze DPC offers a variety of IV therapies and injectable treatments for you to choose from.
Is IV therapy safe?
Yes — IV therapy is generally safe when it's done by trained medical professionals using sterile equipment. In medical settings, IVs are used every day to give fluids, medicines, and nutrients quickly and effectively. Like any treatment, there are small risks such as infection, bruising, or vein irritation, but these are rare when IVs are started and monitored properly. For most healthy people, IV therapy is well-tolerated and can be a safe way to get rehydrated or receive vitamins and medications when needed. If you have certain health conditions, we'll review your medical history first to make sure IV therapy is right for you.
How long does IV therapy take?
The whole process will take 30–60 minutes to complete. There are a few forms to complete prior to your infusion as well as a quick medical assessment.
How often should I get IV therapy?
The frequency of IV therapy is determined on a patient-by-patient basis. We take a customized approach to suit your individual needs.
